100 Days of Peace Making
Inspiring communities, churches and schools to be agents of peace in their communities

100 Days of Peace Making is an initiative that aims to celebrate the age old tradition of keeping peace 50 days before and 50 days after the Olympics.
We want to highlight this period for the 2012 Olympics and work towards establishing 100 days - not just of peace but of peace making.
100 Days of Peace Making will be initiated by Oasis hubs across the UK. On top of this we are encouraging other organisations, churches and faith groups to take up the challenge.
YOU can join us too. We want you to think about peace, what it means to you and how you can build towards more peaceful homes, schools, streets and communities. What are the issues where you live and what can you do to help contribute to more peaceful communities?
WHAT?
Find local solutions to local problems...
Issue: Young people and the police don’t get on well.
Idea: Host a football match between local young people and the police.
OR
Issue: People from different faiths/races in our community don’t trust each other.
Idea: Run a cultural event focused on communities bringing food and how each faith empasises peace in their tradition.
OR
Issue: Young people in our area are always portrayed negatively in the media.
Idea: Run a campaign to get the local paper to write good news stories about young people during the 100 days period.
