GCSE results 2011
Oasis, one of the country’s largest Academy providers, is delighted to announce that this week’s GCSE results show a huge rise in the number of their students achieving five A*-C grades including English and Maths.
Indeed, the scale of the improvement over the last two years far exceeds the national average, demonstrating the strength and depth of Oasis’ unique commitment to community engagement and educational improvement.
There are a number of particular success stories amongst the twelve Academies Oasis runs. Oasis Academy Shirley Park (in Croydon) has doubled the percentage of students achieving 5 A*-C including English and Maths since it opened in September 2009, whilst Oasis Academies John Williams (in Bristol) and Lord’s Hill (in Southampton) have more than doubled their percentage since they opened in September 2008.
Steve Chalke, Founder of Oasis, commented: “I am delighted with our students' success. Not just with the improvement in the results themselves but with the hard work and determination that they represent. Our students across the country should celebrate their successes. I am equally proud of our dedicated and committed staff, who have worked tirelessly to offer every opportunity to our young people. Oasis is committed to an on-going journey of improving educational standards, raising aspirations and equipping young people to thrive and flourish. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far.”
