Being Jesus in the Community
"My family and I moved to Enfield Lock at the beginning of August 2009 after feeling a strong sense that we were meant to be a part of building Oasis Church and the local Hub. Twelve months later, it's an amazing privilege to have people follow us here.
In July 2010 it was a joy to welcome Matt Barber, a friend from the Midlands. He has recently been appointed as Youth Development Worker for Oasis on Enfield Island Village, near the Oasis Academy Enfield.
In a similar turn of events, our long-term friends James and Rachel have watched our story with Oasis unfold since mid 2006. It came as a real delight when in early 2010, they announced to us that they were also moving to Enfield Lock! James has taken a post with Oasis Church as Children's Development Worker.
James said,"We have felt a real connection with the vision and mission which led to us moving to join in this work. We believe God has 'gone ahead of us' and we have seen some real miracles enabling us to move. We know we have exciting years ahead being God's hands, feet and voice as He builds His church and loves this community".
As we begin the next chapter of Oasis Enfield, it's wonderful to have gathered some local people, some Oasis staff and those who have intentionally moved into the area who call themselves Oasis Church. We feel ready to serve and love the community of Enfield Lock with fresh confidence."
