Bristol hub

Our work in Bristol is based around two Academies.

Students in a circleOasis Academy Bristol opened in September 2008 on the existing site of Hengrove Community Arts College, South Bristol. Catering for 1000 students between the ages of 11 and 19, the Academy will specialise in Visual & Performing Arts, with an enterprising focus.

Oasis Academy Brightstowe, which specialises in Mathematics and ICT with Business and Enterprise, also opened in September 2008 in the existing building of Portway Community School. As a recently built school, the excellent facilities are already there. Students of Oasis Academy Brightstowe as well as the local community have access to first-class facilities..

As well as serving the students, both Academies aim to be a hub for the entire community. We want local residents to be able to access facilities such as adult learning centres, internet cafés, learning resource centres, sports courts and out-of-hours youth activities.

It is also hoped that strong links will be made with local health providers and other local organisations.
