Academies

Academies were introduced by the Labour Government in 2000. They are independent, all-ability, state schools supported by sponsors for disadvantaged communties.

Oasis became an academy sponsor in 200 by setting up Oasis Community Learning to create and sustain a network of excellent learning communities where everyone can realise their full potential.

Oasis Community Learning is clear about the ethos and values that underpin our Academies. The person and life of Christ inspire this ethos and because of this our whole approach is inclusive.

The vision for Oasis Academies is to create outstanding schools in the context of community hubs.

We want Oasis Academies to provide a quality experience for our students, but also to serve their wider communities by providing all kinds of opportunities and facilities. Adult learning programmes, creative arts studios, fitness suites, sports facilities, out-of-hours youth activities, healthy living centres. skate parks and much more will form part of our community hubs centred around the Academies.

Each Academy has a different specialism. In Enfield the focus is Business & Enterprise, whereas in Bristol we will help our students to develop Performing & Visual Arts expertise. In any case, each Academy shares the same Oasis vision - to provide a rich and balanced educational environment - academically, vocationally, socially, morally, spiritually, emotionally and environmentally.

Through Academies we hope to transform the lives of thousands of people by creating new opportunities for students and new hope for parents and the wider communities too.

Oasis Academies are run by Oasis Community Learning, part of the Oasis UK Group. You can find out more about this exciting initiative, as well as more about each of the Academies at the Oasis Community Learning website.
