The Oasis Church Network
24/7. Global. Holistic. This is the vision of every church that’s a part of the Oasis Church Network. We’re talking about church but not quite as you may know it!
The Oasis Church Network exists to make the life-changing message of Jesus accessible to everyone by demonstrating the reality and relevance of Christian faith in the 21st century.
More specifically, all Oasis churches aim to be:
- 24/7 - providing a welcome to everyone whatever their situation, whatever the time, night or day
- Holistic - offering a breadth and depth of support, spiritually and socially, to the whole community and beyond
- Global - serving as the hub for the whole Oasis Church Network as it grows around the UK and the world.
So what does this actually mean? Well, we think church isn’t just about a meeting on a Sunday morning and tea with the Vicar. We believe that Christian faith has something to say about every aspect of our lives – not just what happens for a couple of hours each week.
That’s why you’ll see churches that are a part of the Oasis Church Network running activities that benefit the whole community. For example, fair trade coffee shops, aerobics classes, youth clubs, parent/carers and children's groups and a whole lot more!
Sure, a coffee shop may not seem the most revolutionary community initiative, but each Oasis Church will find different gaps in its community to fill; and in doing so will become a community hub right at the heart of it's community.
