Youth

Being a young person today is tough. Here at Oasis we're doing all we can to help young people reach their potential and make a positive contribution to their community.

UK Youth

The examples below are true stories about some of the people our Youth Inclusion team are working with. You'll quickly see the very difficult situations these young people and many like them are forced to live in everyday.

Debbie's story

Debbie lives with her two older sisters who are in their late teens/early twenties. Her Dad is no longer around, and her mother died a few years ago. She comes across as a very confident person, but this is not the case. She expresses this through bullying others, and is a very dominant figure amongst her peers.

Brian's story

Brian lives with his mother who is suffering from depression. He is bright and keen to do well. He suffers from low self-esteem and is anxious a lot of the time. While he has a couple of good friends in primary school, he is worried about being bullied at secondary school. He is unhappy about the school he has been allocated. He is often tired and apathetic. He misses his Dad and worries about his Mum.
