What the cost covers
The cost you pay to Oasis includes your training week, flights, visas, work travel, accommodation, food, insurance, work resources, retreat and a contribution towards your team holiday, as well as our administration costs.
Extras
If you are intending to go overseas on one of our teams, you will need to bear in mind that you will incur some extra costs, such as travel vaccinations, purchasing equipment (e.g. a rucksack) and spending money.
You will need to bring extra money with you for souvenirs, extra toiletries, treats and for activities on your day off, as well as, for example, paying for rafting / bungee jumping at your retreat should you choose to do this (around £50/£80 per person respectively).
Past Teams to Uganda, Mozambique, Thailand, India and Bangladesh have recommended £15-£20 per week for day-to-day expenses - more if you intend to buy lots of souvenirs! Teams to Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zambia recommend £20-£30 per week.
There is £200 per person allocated in your team budget towards your holiday - so you will also need extra money to supplement this, depending on what you wish to do as a team for this time for this (another £300 - £800 per person - very much dependent on your holiday activities)
Remember, throughout the years, literally hundreds of people have been amazed by the way God has provided for their time on a Global Team.

Some fundraising ideas to get you started:
- Run a coffee morning, concerts, car wash, ball or quiz to raise money to contribute to your fees
- Ask your home church for financial support as well as for prayer support.
- If you have your own savings you can of course use those.
- Work hard during the summer before joining Global Action Teams and save up the money you earn!
- Ask for money towards your fees instead of birthday or Christmas presents.
- Clear out all of your old junk by having a car boot sale or selling your stuff on ebay and put the profits towards your fees.
- Give a presentation to the various groups that meet in your church to raise various kinds of support.
- Auction your time and talents (and maybe those of your friends too if they are willing to help out) to people to bid for you to do their gardening, clean their windows, pick up their laundry, walk their dog and so on.
- Get involved in a sponsored activity by running a half marathon or sitting in a bath of beans or walking backwards. You will certainly grab people’s attention...
