Placement options
So once you've decided that you're up for the adventure, you need to decide what you want that adventure to be!
Departure Dates:
September Gap year teams fly out at the beginning of October (after training) and arrive back at the end of March. Total placement time overseas is 5 1/2 months. 3-month teams who train in September fly out a few days after Training, and return mid-December
March Gap year teams have training at the end of March, and fly out in early April, returning at the end of August. Total placement time overseas is 4 1/2 months. 3-month teams who train in March depart in April or May, depending on country placement
Short term Made to Serve, and some of our Focus teams have training days at various points through the year, depending on when the team departs. Our summer Focus teams train at the end of July and fly out immediately after, returning during August depending on the length of the team.
Here are the options in a nutshell:
Uganda - GAT 4.5months (April 2011 only), Focus teams at various times of year including summer
Zambia - GAT 3 months (April and Sept 2011), Focus team in the summer
Zimbabwe - GAT 4.5months (April 2011), GAT 5.5months (Sept 2011), Focus teams at various times of year including summer
South Africa - GAT 4.5months (April 2011), GAT 5.5months (Sept 2011), Focus teams at various times of year including summer
India - GAT 4.5months (April 2011) and GAT 5.5months (Sept 2011) to Mumbai only (both intakes for those over 20), Focus teams during summer to Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai (for those over 18)
Bangladesh - GAT 3months (April 2011), Focus teams for 4weeks in November 2010 and June 2011
Thailand - GAT 4.5months (April 2011), GAT 5.5months (Sept 2011)
Kyrgyzstan - Focus teams in April, May and July 2011
