More details
Gap year teams currently work in Mumbai, helping at a number of Oasis India projects.
Focus teams will be placed in Mumbai (focusing on exposure to projects working with women and who have been trafficked into prostitution), or Bangalore or Chennai (with a particular focus on sports and children's work).
The most recent teams have taught English and Maths, run kids' club activities, worked with people affected by HIV, run dance classes in government homes, helped with administrative work on anti-trafficking/advocacy projects, and run sports clubs including football and cricket. The projects work with some of the most excluded and vulnerable people in each city, to facilitate education and employment opportunities.

Sarah Lowe, Bangalore Summer team member
"...my time spent in India was one of the most incredible times of my life and ... I miss being in India, working with the amazing people we worked with. The poverty that I saw and experienced will remain in my mind for the rest of my life, but seeing what I’ve seen has inspired me to push on and try to make a difference in this world."
