Church.co.uk is a thriving church and community hub at the heart of Waterloo providing a whole range of services and activities for local people.

Church.co.uk

At the heart of all we do is our thriving volunteering programme providing the opportunity for people to get involved in their community, develop skills and gain vital work experience.

Here’s an outline of some of the main areas of our work and ways you can get involved in our volunteering programme:

FootballChurch.co.uk runs a range of football coaching programmes for local young people.

We need volunteers interested in coaching football to come and help with these weekly sessions:

  • Under 12s (Year 5 to Year 7) Tuesdays, 4.30-6.30pm at Lilian Baylis School, Lollard Street, Lambeth Walk Estate
  • Intermediates (Year 8- Year 11) Fridays 7.30 – 8.30 pm at Colombo Pitch, Colombo Street, Southwark.
  • Seniors (16+ ) Fridays 8.30-9.30pm at Colombo Pitch, Colombo Street, Southwark.

We’re also looking for volunteers to develop our girls’ football coaching so if that’s something you’d be interested in we’d love to hear from you.

SouthsideSouthside is a youth-led media project and radio station based in South London at our Hub House youth centre. Southside inspires young people through music and creativity and provides an opportunity for them to express their views, showcase their talent, produce, MC or make videos.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in film, photography or radio to help with this exciting media project.

Southside runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Regular volunteering during these times is needed but we’d also love to hear from you if you’d like to do one-off training sessions or help run some short term creative projects.

Hub kids

Hub KidsChurch.co.uk has a jam packed weekly programme of exciting youth work. Our Wednesday evening ‘Hub Kids’ is for children aged 6-11 years old and takes place between 3.30pm – 5.30pm. Hub Kids is a lively and welcoming club with a whole range of activities including sports, crafts and games.

Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of this after school club from planning to getting involved in all the activities. There are lots of opportunities to use the skills you have and develop new ones at the same time.

Hub Youth

Hub Youth takes place every Thursday between 7pm – 9pm and is for ages 12 an upwards.

Volunteers are needed to join the team for Hub Youth and help with the running of this thriving area of work.

CakeThe Hub Café is a fair trade coffee shop and welcoming space for passers by open every weekday, 10 am to 4 pm.

Volunteers are needed to help with the running of the Hub Cafe. This exciting role involves everything you’d expect from working in a busy café; making hot drinks, serving snacks, operating the till and keeping the cafe area clean and safe.

It’s a great role for learning practical skills, meeting a variety of people from the local community and also gaining valuable customer service insight.

Volunteers are needed for morning or afternoon shifts and a minimum commitment of one shift every 2 weeks.
