The successful applicant will:

  • Investigate and review existing community health programme material and develop a health programme specific to the needs of Musoto
  • Train community and church volunteers in implementing the community health programme
  • Hold regular workshops in identified health issues with carers in the Beersheba project programmes and wider community
  • Provide monthly general health checks with girls in the Beersheba project programme, making written reports and keeping up to date files
  • Liaise with the district health authorities, communicating issues of health raised by the community and seeking support and assistance
  • Establish links with clinics and organisations working in specialist areas of health (i.e. HIV/AIDS) for purposes of referral, advice and support.

Personal Specification:

  • Qualifications in medicine/nursing (Midwifery preferred but not essential)
  • Previous experience of working in communities
  • Good written ability and to produce material of a high standard.
  • Good oral and communication skills
  • Able to work in challenging situations
  • Mature born-again Christian

The successful applicant will:

Organise new Oasis Global Teams and Professional Placements and oversee strategy for team placements according to Oasis Uganda GAT strategy and in co-ordination of Oasis UK GAT strategy. This position will coordinate International Placements in Uganda.

  • Network with local NGOs to find placements and projects for Global Teams (GAT) and Professional Placements (PP)
  • Prepare and oversee budgets for GAT, PP and International Staff (IS)
  • Organise orientation programmes, training sessions and retreats for GAT and PP
  • Provide for pastoral oversight of and ongoing communication with GAT, PP and IS
  • Build good relationships and ongoing communication with local overseers of GAT and PP
  • Run training and discipleship course for 6-month GAT and PP
  • Provide a good level of ongoing communication with Oasis UK regarding GAT, PP and IS

Personal Specifications:

  • Be able to provide support and pastoral oversight for GAT and PP
  • Have at least 6-months cross-cultural experience, preferably in Uganda
