Katalemwa Cheshire Home provides holistic medical support for the long term rehabilitation of children with a wide variety of physical disabilities. The Home also seeks to provide support for the families of the children being treated.
The successful applicant will:
- Devise and provide a broad educational programme for patients
- Work alongside the existing medical and social care staff in providing holistic care for children with special educational needs, reviewing staff teaching techniques and providing training where necessary
- Provide stability and direction for this project
- Empower the current health team to be able to work independently and safely after your placement has finished
Personal Specifications:
- Have at least one, preferably two or more years experience as a qualified special needs Teacher
- Have some experience or interest in working with helping in the rehabilitation of children who have physical disabilities
- Good organisational and problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Will be compassionate and caring
- Will be comfortable working autonomously and creatively
- Will be committed to empowering others and developing non-hierarchical forms of team work
- Will have a mature character and be flexible in a new cultural environment
