The successful applicant will:

  • Help establish Oasis Zimbabwe's youth work, working with churches in Harare and other urban areas;
  • Provide training for church youth workers;
  • Run youth events and develop materials;
  • Mentor a youth worker already working with Oasis Zimbabwe.

Personal specification: 

  • Youth worker qualification/experience working as a Youth Worker in the UK (desirable); 
  • Experience working with children (essential);
  • A patient and enthusiastic team-player;
  • Creative and independent with an ability to lead;
  • A heart for mission and children.

  • Provide support and pastoral care to the teams and placements

  • Organise Life-skills and holiday camp for urban and rural youth
  • Develop adventure activities which are part of the camps core teaching tools
  • Assist the Adventure Leaderships Co-ordinator in all activities where necessary
  • Co-ordinate with churches, schools and key leaders in organising events

Personal Specifications:

  • Be highly motivated, organised and be able to use own initiative
  • Have a range of certifications in a range of outdoor sports to the level of training others
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to network.
