Fundraising

All of this fundraising may seem a bit daunting. So we will provide you with an Oasis fundraising guide and Oasis DVD when you’re accepted on to this programme to help you. Fundraising does require hard work and thought though so don’t leave it to the last minute – start now!

Be encouraged - by choosing to become part of this initiative you are showing that you are serious about connecting faith with action and bringing transformation to some of the UK’s toughest communities. That will be encouraging and exciting news for many of your family and friends – they will want to support you as you step out on this next part of your adventure of life. But you will need to ask them!

11 fundraising ideas to get you started:

  1. Ask 20 people to sponsor you £10 a month or 40 people to sponsor you £5 a month for the eleven months of the programme. Sponsors could set up a transfer direct into your bank account or could send you the money each month. This would cover your monthly living costs.
  2. Run a coffee morning, concerts, car wash, ball or quiz to raise money to contribute to your fees or allowance.
  3. Ask your home church for financial support as well as for prayer support.
  4. Commit a couple of hours a week to pray specifically for financial provision then both wait to see what happens and get active in fundraising.
  5. If you have your own savings you can of course use those.
  6. Work hard during the summer before joining threesixty and save up the money you earn!
  7. Ask for money towards your fees instead of birthday or Christmas presents.
  8. Clear out all of your old junk by having a car boot sale or selling your stuff on ebay and put the profits towards your fees.
  9. Give a presentation to the various groups that meet in your church to raise various kinds of support.
  10. Auction your time and talents (and maybe those of your friends too if they are willing to help out) to people to bid for you to do their gardening, clean their windows, pick up their laundry, walk their dog and so on.
  11. Get involved in a sponsored activity by running a half marathon or sitting in a bath of beans or walking backwards. You will certainly grab people’s attention.
