Training programme
'The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn'. Alvin Toffler
You know the whole deal that we learn in different ways and that we learn a lot by doing? Well that’s the vision behind the threesixty training – you get ongoing training throughout the year both locally and nationally. Reading, blogging, questioning, grappling, doing – it’s all in the mix. We reckon that it's vital that anyone who is part of threesixty is trained and equipped to bring transformation and hope to the communities we serve. That's why we take the training really seriously and give you so much good solid stuff.
National

All those who are on threesixty from across the UK will come together for three residential blocks of training, personal development and inspirational teaching. You'll also meet with Oasis staff as well as the other threesixty’s. You will have opportunity to share the stories of what you are involved in as well as being equipped and prepared to take all that we do well beyond just one year with Oasis.
You will receive input from nationally recognised speakers and trainers, including Steve Chalke, Founder of Oasis and Jill Rowe, Ethos and Resourcing Director for Oasis UK.
The training will cover the following areas:
Theology: Developing a deeper understanding of your faith through the processes of theological reflection, dialogue and debate.
Personal and Spiritual Development: Developing vital social and personal skills for this year and the years ahead as well as a deep and robust personal spirituality which continues to motivate and inspire you for the long haul of life.
Church and Community Development: Enabling you to think through how Christian faith relates to contemporary culture. How can individuals and the Church live distinctly within 21st century society?
There is a Commissioning Event at the start of the year and Graduation at the end of the year.
Those on threesixty will also achieve a University Certificate in Lifelong Learning (subject to validation) which is equivalent to an A Level. This is an exciting new development for 2010! It will be delivered by Oasis College and will include two core modules:
- Community volunteering
- Working with children, young people and families
There will also be optional modules which can be chosen subject to hub needs and personal preferences. These are:
- Sex and relationships education
- Mentoring through intentional relationships
- Whole life ministry and mission
Local

You will receive specialist training while at your Oasis Hub. This will range from practical training to enable you to do a good job, to topics such as spiritual disciplines, reflective practice, big questions, teamwork and conflict...the list is endless.
You will also take part in a number of other national events including Spring Harvest and Youthwork the Conference.
