As part of the wider Oasis family of hubs, Oasis Hub Oldham works to provide integrated, high quality services that benefit the whole person and the whole community.  This is achieved by bringing together the Oasis ethos and values, local and national resources and expertise, and working together in and with local partners.

An opportunity has arisen for a Community Project Worker to cover a maternity absence within the Hub, based in Oldham.  This is a varied role, which encompasses a number of ongoing projects, all based around mentoring, cooking, gardening and engaging the young people in our community.

Under the supervision of the Hub Leader, the Community Project Worker’s key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the project lead in the delivery of the weekly Community Kitchen.  This includes the preparing of food.
  • Delivering a holiday club, peer & group mentoring sessions and the Hollinwood growing and planting activities.
  • Be involved in the recruitment, training, and support of project volunteers.
  • targeting individuals and groups to improve engagement.
  • Working with a network of local agencies and community partners leading partnership activities.
  • Delivering effective qualitative and quantitative project outcome reporting.

This is very much a relationship and project building role, and the successful applicant will also need to demonstrate:

  • Experience of working in a youth/community/education setting
  • Knowledge of child protection practices and health and safety.
  • Experience in 1 to 1 mentoring/counselling
  • Proven ability to manage a range of different projects going on at the same time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills.

Completed applications should be returned by Midday, Wednesday 26th February 2020.

Interviews will take place in Oldham in early March 2020.
