End holiday hunger this summer

The latest statistics show us that one in three children live in poverty in the UK, with an estimated 2.5 million living in food insecure households.

During the summer months – when the young people we work with can no longer access the free meals they are entitled to at school – this crisis worsens significantly.

Last summer, in our Waterloo Foodbank, we saw in increase of 86% of children who were coming to us for food.

This summer, with your support, we want to distribute emergency food parcels to those who desperately need them. We want to operate sports clubs, arts and crafts activities and workshops on our community farms for whole families. With every activity, we need to provide food. That means that as well as being fed, people are developing connections with others in their local community, starting conversations and buildings relationships.
