STOP THE TRAFFIK (STT) is working to disrupt and prevent human trafficking by raising awareness, informing and equipping individuals, organisations and communities to take action to combat this horrific global crime. We won’t stop until the world is a place where people are not bought and sold.

This is an amazing opportunity to join STOP THE TRAFFIK in an innovative and exciting role as Head of Strategic Communications.

As part of the senior leadership team, this role requires an exceptional individual who can drive and manage a growing and evolving brand and lead the development of integrated multi-channel marketing and fundraising communications strategies. 

A seasoned communications professional, you’ll drive external engagement, inspire teams and amplify STT’s message to its diverse audience base. Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with colleagues across the organisation, your results-driven approach will help to integrate STT’s brand, fundraising and organisational objectives through powerful, effective campaigns. 

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Be strategic – able to build on and implement a communications strategy that pushes boundaries and goes beyond STT objectives
  • Be a creative thinker, able to design integrated campaigns that resonate with STT supporters
  • Take ownership of and drive projects and inspire your team
  • Be able to build relationships with senior stakeholders, pro-bono sponsors and team members
  • Be highly organised, yet maintain a flexible and adaptable working style to meet the needs of a small, yet highly ambitious and fast paced organisation
  • Be knowledgeable on and connected with a wide spectrum of broadcast, print, online and social media influencers and journalists (Desired)

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implementing an integrated strategic communications plan ensuring reach across all audience bases
  • Digital and social content planning
  • Leading the strategic thinking and planning and overseeing the development of our global paid social awareness campaigns
  • Leveraging our current vision, mission and values to develop key messaging for an ambitious PR strategy, raising our profile and cultivating relationships
  • Identifying and managing effective pro-bono relationships
  • Line-managing the Digital Communications & Campaign Officer
