YOUTH WORKER

EMPLOYABILITY EMPOWERMENT – OASIS HUB WATERLOO

 PART-TIME, 12 HOURS PER WEEK (0.3 FTE)

FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 3 MONTHS WITH THE POSSIBILITY TO EXTEND

SALARY:  £6,895.20 per annum (£22,984 FOR 1FTE)

Oasis Hub Waterloo is looking to offer a life changing role to someone.

We are looking for someone who can join our amazing Oasis Youth Service Team as a Youth Worker.

Before you think – I can’t do this, please spend another minute reading more…it could change your life.

Ever thought you could make a difference to a young person?

Ever wondered how you could start a career in youth work?

Want to boost your confidence and prospects?

Want to be part of a supportive, dynamic, fun and quality team?

Have you been out of work for some time?

This role could be the one.

Oasis Hub Waterloo has a new vacancy for a Youth Worker as part of our Employability Empowerment scheme, designed for those who have been out of work for a significant period of time and are looking to build their skills, experience and confidence in a supportive and professional environment.

As part of the Employability Empowerment scheme you will be employed for 12 hours per week (10 hours working with our Oasis Youth Service team and 2 hours doing mandatory training and skills workshops and meetings).

There will also be the opportunity to access further optional training appropriate to your needs. Please note, across 2022, we have six placements as part of this pilot scheme. Each placement will run for an initial 3 months with the possibility to extend it.

This job will provide a wide range of youth work related opportunities including supporting our after school youth clubs, sports programmes (you don’t have to be sporty), one to one mentoring and small group support on our Farm (you don’t have to like animals – but it would help).

This Youth Worker must have:

  • The ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English
  • Basic numeracy and IT skills
  • Ability to do manual work, such as mucking out our animal enclosures and moving small bits of equipment
  • Ability to think as a team player, working towards a common goal and willing to assist other team members

We still think you can do it!
