A new joint venture between Oasis and Crystal Palace FC Academy will provide a comprehensive education programme for young footballers.

Shinnel Paras, 26, has been appointed to head the pioneering project, designed to help young footballers in Years 8-11 fulfil their potential on and off the pitch.

North London-born Shinnel, is a graduate in Business Studies and was previously Head of Sixth Form at Oasis Academy Enfield in London.

Crystal Palace FC is investing £20m in a state-of-the-art Category 1 footballing centre as part of its training facility in Beckenham, which includes the innovative education and care approach, part of CPFC’s Player Care strategy for its young players.

“My aim is to set the standard among footballing academies,’ says Shinnel Paris. ‘I want boys at Crystal Palace FC Academy to achieve their potential academically and socially, as well as in terms of their footballing ability.

‘Our goal is also to create a strong emphasis on character development to help our young players cope with the highs and lows of the sport and of life in general. It’s all about what they go on to do with their whole lives, on or off the pitch, because of their amazing experience at the Academy.’
