Oasis Hub Waterloo, is seeking a skilled, adaptable, committed and passionate Youth Service Coordinator who will co-ordinate high impact services for local young people (aged 11 and over).

Oasis Community Hub Waterloo is a ground-breaking charity providing a broad and inclusive range of community development services for vulnerable and isolated people living in Lambeth & Southwark. Oasis Hub Waterloo want young people to be independent and interdependent. We want each young person to be inspired, empowered, supported and nurtured so that they can fulfil their full potential.

This role will enable many young people to make this their reality.  The Youth Services Co-ordinator will help to deliver our current services but will also be supported to develop creative community-based projects alongside our Head of Youth Service.

Duties will include:

  • providing a youth work service for the boroughs of Lambeth & Southwark, linking young people into additional community based services, depending on their needs.
  • providing accessible one to one and small group sessions for young local people.
  • supporting the delivery of generic youth services open to all genders and sexualities.
  • organising and running an engagement programme during the school holidays.
  • utilising monitoring and evaluating tools to measure impact and progress.

You will be supported by the Head of Youth Service, as well as being part of the wider Oasis Hub Waterloo team.

You could be successful in this role if you: 

  • a relevant recognised qualification (or demonstrate qualification by experience).
  • proven experience working with young people in both 1-2-1 and group settings.
  • a good knowledge of the issues facing young people in inner city London
  • a good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
  • strong team ethic, with excellent communication, organisation and admin skills
  • experience of leading and managing volunteers.
