The Big River Give took place on the 27th July on what was a magical evening aboard the luxury Millenium Diamond boat cruising along the River Thames beginning at dusk and continuing through the evening until night-time. Joined by supporters and partners alike, over 100 guests enjoyed a glass of sparklng wine during the welcome reception before being shown to their private tables for the rest of the evening by one of our friendly event chaperones.

Setting off from the impressive backdrop of Westminster, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the first of four courses was served while live background music was provided by live singer and entertainer Jackie Marks serenading the room with classics from the West End. London's greatest landmarks were even more impressive at night wit their bright lights and dreamlike quality. The ever changing backdrop was simply mesmerising. Try picturing sailing under Tower Bridge and down towards the Thames Barrier!

As ethereal and relaxing as the whole night was, everyone still helped raise a fantastic amount of money in support of Oasis Youth ensuring projects like Hub Athletic and the A&E Youth Programme are able to continue. Projects like these are an important part of helping young people keep off the streets and out of gangs using engagement and counselling techniques.

A fantastic £15,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of everyone who came and took part in the live auction, prize draw and speed donation! Special thanks in particular to our donors and partners mentioned below and even to our Founder Steve Chalke MBE for his enthusiasm and willingness to embrace the evening for everything it was!

Due the runaway success of the inaugural event we will be hosting our 2nd cruise on Thursday the 21st June 2018 with all proceeds raised once again being used for the continuing support of the Oasis Youth Projects.
