Our Ethos
Our ethos values are lived out every day in who we are, and how we behave towards each other. In all our work – from our Basis drop in centres, to our Academies, and from our churches to our community projects – we encourage each other to keep on becoming the best version of ourselves.
Oasis Values
Oasis UK is driven by the passionate belief that each human being is uniquely valuable and of equal importance.
It informs our inclusive ethos, which we hope is obvious wherever and whenever someone encounters Oasis and permeates through everything we do.
Our five ethos values:
- A passion to include everyone
- A desire to treat everyone equally, respecting differences
- A commitment to healthy and open relationships
- A deep sense of hope that things can change and be transformed
- A sense of perseverance to keep going for the long haul
Oasis 9 Habits
The 9 Habits
At Oasis, out ethos is something we live out every day in the way we work a and how we treat one another – across our Academies, Community Hubs, churches and partners.
All of us strive to develop the 9 Habits in our behaviour and this has been the key to transformation in our schools and community projects.
Jill Rowe, our Ethos & Formation Director (left), works across the the organisation training and supporting staff and school children alike in understanding the 9 Habits and how they can hep us better understand ourselves and our behaviour. Her blogs are available below.

Our Circle of Inclusion
At the heart of our ethos is the conviction that everyone is uniquely valuable and of equal importance. We all have something to bring, and we all need each other.
We call the ‘O’ in Oasis our ‘Circle of Inclusion’. Everyone matters. Everyone belongs. And because we’re committed to inclusion, we’re committed to ending inequality, injustice, and exclusion wherever and however we can. We hope our values and our ethos are felt whenever someone encounters Oasis, permeating everything we do.
We are Christ-Centred
Our vision, values, and ethos are Christ-centred, informed by the life and person of Jesus.
We will not impose the beliefs that underpin our ethos on anyone. We recognise and celebrate the richness that spiritual and cultural diversity brings to our community, respecting the beliefs and practices of other faiths in the hope that we will provide a welcoming environment for all.
